It was his first recital and he couldn’t be more eager to finally be part of it. They both did great and made me the happiest mom alive :)

Today she had her violin test for book 1. She had to perform 3 songs from the book one to the teacher doing the evaluation to prove she was ready to move to book 2. She did great, I was the nervous one there :)

It’s that time of the year again, weather is getting warmer and we keep running all over getting ready for our Spring Violin Recital. This year was very special because it was the first time he was invited to join then. So proud of him, his bow was moving just perfect and he was very happy to be there, playing with his sister.

Here are the videos I was able to take considering I had a sleeping baby in my lap :)

This is my middle boy playing his violin. He will be the second from the right.

Here we can see her, the third from the left, with a black outfit.

Here she is playing in the orchestra. She is in the front left side of the conductor. Between the boy and the girl in black and pink.

Both kids are playing here, she is somewhere in the back and he is very close to the lady playing the violin, I will say the second from the right with a green shirt.

And or course, as evidence the the little one was there, we took this video at the very end.

And some extra pictures…

He got up for a few minutes to look around and that was it :)

During my years as a “working woman” I held the philosophy of most other women I knew. Stay-at-home moms were lazy. They were pathetically dependent upon their poor husband for everything. They did nothing but wash dishes, sweep floors and hang out in their sweats all day. While I was making a difference in the world, they were wiping snotty noses and watching “Oprah”.

After years of “having it all and conquering the world”, doubts began to creep into my subconscious. Why did I feel so guilty thinking soon I will have to start dropping my little girl off at a daycare? What on earth possessed me to want to make my own bread and feed my family wonderful meals when we could order in a pizza? Why would I rather work in the garden than have cocktails with other business elites? Something was drastically wrong! I was starting to loose it :)

Little by little, I was awakened to the reality that I was designed to be the Mistress of my home. Slowly, the hold of being a “working woman” began to lose its grip on me and the desire to serve my husband, care for my children and manage my own estate took hold.

In the years that followed the way I see the world changed drastically. All the years I had worked, I had been positive that at-home-moms were lazy and ignorant. Six months of running (and I means really running) my own home, homeschooling, working to supplement our income and I had a new respect for the Mistress of the house.

The reality is that a stay-at-home mother is at the very heart of our great nation. We raise the children, we manage the home, we improve the economy and we shape the souls of the next generation. Just like God intended it to be.

I have read with great interest the attacks being leveled against Ann Romney (wife of presidential contender Mitt Romney) because she has “never worked a single day in her life”. Obviously, the strategist who made those statements has no idea what it means to manage your husbands estate. And that is what is wrong with this society, we have no respect for our own family and we lack of total responsibility for the things God gave us and trusted us with … our sons and daughters!
